A BIT ABOUT MANGAOHANE STATION…

Rimanui Farms Limited is a largescale farming business operating multiple sheep and beef farms across the North Island and includes some of New Zealand’s most iconic farms.

Mangaohane Station is one of the Rimanui Farms in the Central North Island, based approximately 50 minutes north-east of Taihape on the Taihape-Napier Road. The station is 4839ha total, and winters around 40,000su.

THE OPPORTUNITY…


Supporting the Station Manager with the livestock and pasture management, the Stock Manager will need to take ownership of key aspects of running the day-to-day operations of this large-scale station.

The Stock Manager will be experienced with the scale this operation offers and will come with experience handling large mobs, as there are some trickier mustering situations. A good team of 6-8 working dogs under good control is required for this role.

A key component of the role will be managing and organising the team of six, delegating tasks, showing strong leadership and mentoring them. Strong communication is essential.

A BIT ABOUT YOU…

Along with relevant experience and a passion for the industry, the successful applicant will have:

  • Excellent stockmanship with a team of well controlled working dogs.
  • Experienced at handling large mobs of sheep and cattle.
  • Strong work ethic and organisational skills.
  • Good leadership/mentoring skills and strong communication.
  • A current and full NZ Driver’s Licence.

On offer is an excellent remuneration package,including a 3 bedroom home available, close enough to the hub of the Station, but far enough away to offer privacy. The house is scheduled for some renovations in the near future.

The location of the Station provides plenty of opportunities for outdoor recreation with the Rangitikei River on the boundary. Rimanui Farms will support and continue your ongoing development and there are potential growth opportunities available.
