WHERE

Owners, Ray and Pam Borcovsky have been farming their property alongside the Mangles River in Murchison, a town in the Tasman Region of the South Island, since 1944. The business is a mixed enterprise comprising a dairy unit, dry stock farm, and a small Miro Appaloosa horse breeding unit, which is run by daughter Vanessa. The farm has extensive river flats and river terraces adding to the diversity of this property. The property has a good water supply, fertiliser history and infrastructure that makes it an easy property to operate.

The farm has a 160ha milking platform and milks 440 Friesian cows twice a day through a 40-aside Herringbone shed with automatic cup removers. The owner’s and overseer (daughter Vanessa) both live on-farm and have clarity of their own support roles within the business.

The Owners are seeking a Contract Milker who they can form a strong relationship with and support their growth within this farming business. A Contract Milker is the preferred contractual arrangement, however expressions of interest from those seeking a Farm Manager role will also be welcomed.

The appointee will be fully responsible for the day-to-day management of the dairy platform, have strong attention to detail, be neat and tidy and enjoy producing excellent results. The owners are very motivated to share their intellectual property and be engaged for a win-win outcome with the appointed Contract Milker.

There is an excellent long-standing relationship with their Farm Advisor and the owners would be happy for shortlisted Contract Milkers to be put in contact with him for a conversation.
