Saleyard Manager
Due to the retirement of our long serving Manager, the Marlborough saleyards is looking for a committed and reliable person to take over the operations of our livestock facility with an expected time-frame for starting October 1st 2024.
Our yards provide 24/7 over-nighting and transit of livestock NZ wide but also hold livestock auctions.
Duties will include but not limited to; liaising with Livestock Transport companies, Stock Agents, providing sound stock handling and welfare, feeding out, carrying out maintenance and repairs and management duties - administrative duties and participation with the Directors Meetings and AGM’s will be part of this role
Administering Health & Safety and well being throughout the establishment and having a sound working knowledge of the regulations is paramount to this position.
Requirements:
- As this is also quite a physical role, there will be an expected level of ability and fitness
- needed to enhance safety and wellbeing in the workplace.
- Clean fully endorsed driver’s license required.
- Police check and Drug and Alcohol testing will be a requirement for this role.
