Beef + Lamb NZ

Extension Coordinator | Hawke's Bay

Supporting every great extension event is an amazing organiser, excellent communicator, herder of cats and administrator extraordinaire…You’re the backbone for success and the home for improvement and innovation ideas that means our events just keep getting better and better.

Beef + Lamb New Zealand is investing heavily in their extension programme that delivers events which support learning and skills development for our farmer stakeholders. And this includes investing in a new Extension Coordinator position based in our Eastern North Island region and working from our Havelock North office.

You’ll be joining a team of professional Extension Coordinators, Extension Managers and Regional Extension Managers based across New Zealand, collaborating and helping to deliver quality events.  With a focus on devising and enacting consistent pre and post event processes, supporting events ‘on-the-day’ and keeping our records and information accurate and up to date, this role is critical in our quest to support farmers to make positive changes in and for their businesses. These are exciting, challenging, changing, innovation worthy times for our farmers and our extension team is up for the job.

To be a great Extension Coordinator we already know you will come with event coordination, administration, and business support experience, you will be committed to continuous improvement, and you’ll have an eye for detail.  So much the better if you’re familiar with New Zealand’s rural sector and have worked in a rural-facing environment before.

You’ll also know that a good event or programme of events doesn’t stop when the event is done …. you’ll be a finisher who’s up for the post-event data collection, analysis, dissection and identification of next steps.  You’ll be comfortable on the phone, will like to get the details ‘nailed down’ and won’t be shy with follow-up and follow-through.  Most of all, you’ll be that magic combination of relatable, organised and professional.

Applications will be managed as received, so don’t delay, apply today if this opportunity sounds like you.

How to apply: Applications need to be submitted directly via the B+LNZ website click here.

No8HR is helping us with the recruitment for this position, so if you have any questions, please reach out to Nick Coster on 029 222 0019.

So if you’re looking for a role where your ‘behind the scenes’ skills will be truly valued, where there is scope and opportunity for you to be ‘front of house’ at events, and where collaboration and making a difference are the flavours of success then please get in touch with us.

Passion, integrity, and a genuine desire to do our best for farmers is what drives us at Beef + Lamb New Zealand (B+LNZ).  We are 100% farmer-owned and funded and work on behalf of New Zealand’s sheep and beef producers. Our vision is for thriving sheep and beef farmers, now and into the future.  Beef + Lamb New Zealand’s investments play a critical role in underpinning New Zealand’s second biggest export sector.
